Nanda Maharaj was giving charity, and he opened up his treasury and he allowed everyone to go inside and take whatever they wanted. Now you can imagine if they would do that to us, right?
(Maharaj whistles and imitates a loud call) “Bring the truck! Bring the train! Bring another truck! You said we could take everything we desired!!!”
With a magnifying glass we would pick up the last lost pearl left in the dust in the corner. But somehow or another everyone went in the treasury of Nanda Maharaj, took what he desired and was fully satisfied, and still there was something left for Nanda Maharaj, and everyone was satisfied like this. So we see that the residents there were all wonderful personalities, all wonderful devotees.
“Krsna is unlimitedly wonderful and therefore His abode is also unlimitedly wonderful…..Nanda Maharaj’s Palace is a wonderful place decorated with many colours ….and emeralds inlaid in the ceilings and in the walls, and huge gates and different towers….beautiful flags and everything wonderfully decorated.
There are 8 very large goshallas, also very nicely decorated. Around the palace of Nanda Maharaj there is a very high wall. It is said on the front side of that palace, there is a mountain stream flowing through the wall, creating a waterfall effect, and in this way, Nanda Maharaj has an amazing garden wall! And so all the residents of Vrndavan have running water. There is a huge lake on top of Nandisvara, and there are channels made from that to all the houses. Although in India you will always see people with waterpots – the ladies are daily carrying waterpots – not in Nandisvara, because everyone has running water, there if anyone carries pots, you can be sure there’s no water – you can be sure there’s milk, milk, butter or sometimes even sweets, no less! Because such opulence is there!
So the world of the Supreme Lord is very wonderful. It just reflects His very wonderful nature. It is full of natural wealth and it is said that in that abode there is nothing negative. Words like ‘binding’ are only used for binding hair or binding calves, not for binding thieves because there are no thieves! Everyone is fully satisfied…..
So we see that the residents, they were all wonderful personalities, all wonderful devotees, living in a wonderful abode that was just emanating the whole atmosphere of transcendental ecstacy! Everything in all directions was just wonderful!
