Being on the cutting edge
The art of the guru disciple relationship is very intricate and it requires a lot of work. It’s not automatic, it is not just by some mental adjustments, “Now I am going to be a disciple”- one has to really work to be a disciple! It is not a simple thing! And only then, if one is on the cutting edge in that relationship, that one is spiritually enlivened. But if one is not on the cutting edge in the relationship with one’s spiritual master then spiritual life is kind of on a low flow and the inspiration is just not very high. And it’s going on and one may be nicely situated in an asrama, in hearing and chanting and so on, but it is not really happening deep in one’s heart. One must be on the cutting edge in one’s relationship with the spiritual master…
