A day after He toured Hamburg, Lord Jagannatha together with His brother Lord Baladeva and sister Lady Subhadra decided to bless the city of Amsterdam in another Ratha Yatra festival.
When Maharaja arrived at Amsterdam airport on Sunday morning, he was welcomed by unpleasant rainy weather. But sure enough, as soon as the Lord mounted His chariot, the clouds disappeared and the sun shone brightly.
A powerful procession was led by great kirtaniyas like HH Kadamba Kanana Maharaja, HG Parividha Prabhu and HG Jagadananda Prabhu, but even more spectacular was the stage program that followed which really captured the attention of the visitors. It was situated on Dam Square, one of Amsterdam’s most central areas. The program consisted of music bands, dances, a short discourse by Guru Maharaja and last but definitely not least, a grand final kirtana performed by both Madhava Prabhu and Kadamba Kanana Maharaja, who got the devotees as well as the visitors dancing.
It was a great party and a highly successful Ratha Yatra in Amsterdam.
