(HH Kadamba Kanana Swami, Soweto South Africa, 15th April 2012) Lecture: CC Talk

In my travel towards India, I travelled through Turkey and there the meat was green! So I became a vegetarian. I must admit it was for practical reasons that I became a vegetarian. Green was not attractive. Somehow or other I said:

‘No, I’m not going to eat that.’

So I had been a vegetarian for six months. It was a long journey to the East and when I came back I remained as a vegetarian. Then came the thing:

‘Why kill? If I lived six months and I didn’t need to kill for my food, then actually why would I need to do it now?’

After these six months I felt:

‘Why would I need to do it if I don’t want to?’
