Located just 30 km from the city of Passau which is near the German/Austrian border, is the Simhacalam Farm. This is where the deity of Prahlad-Narasimha resides, surrounded by hills and valleys of green forest. Maharaj arrived there on Friday, 4 May and stayed until Monday.
The festival ran over 3 days (4-6 May) however, the highlight was undoubtedly Nrshimadev’s Appearance Day itself which started off with a packed morning program. The 7 am darshan was rather special as Nrshimadev was dressed in an outfit made of sandesh (milk sweet). Maharaj led the kirtana after Guru Puja and thereafter, a long morning class was presented, shared by 4 speakers, namely HH Bhakti Vaibhava Swami, HH Kavichandra Swami, HG Ravindra Swarupa Prabhu and HH Kadamba Kanana Swami. The maha-abhishek began around midday and went on for 3 hours. While Lord Nrsimhadev was bathed with many auspicious items, ecstatic kirtana accompanied the ceremony.
This was followed by an initiation ceremony by HH Sacinandana Swami and a cultural program. The activities for the day went on until late and 10 pm signalled the start of the 24 hour kirtana. Many devotees participated all night and the kirtana was interrupted by the Sunday morning program where the class was shared by 4 speakers again, including Maharaj. Lord Nrsimhadev gave another special darshan at midday, this time in a flower outfit.
It was a weekend of pure transcendental enjoyment for all those who attended. Maharaj departed Europe on Monday and flew to Sydney, Australia where he is currently engaged in many programs.
