If we don’t take shelter of the Bhagavad-gita then that is a risky business because we need these instructions to remain in pure position. In the beginning, we are very concerned about being pure but later on we realise that actually it’s more important to place ourselves in the pure position, and that is the part that we can do.
‘sarva-dharmān parityajya
mām ekaṁ śaraṇaṁ vraja
ahaṁ tvāṁ sarva-pāpebhyo
mokṣayiṣyāmi mā śucaḥ,’ (Bg.18.66)
Just surrender onto me Krsna says. We cannot take away our karma… that we can’t do. We just do the surrendering part. We do the part of placing ourselves in a pure position so then Krsna will arrange for our purity.
