Kadamba Kanana Swami: (partial transcript) Devotees must be saintly. It's nice to put tilak, neck beads, lots of saffron or other things - it doesn't make one saintly. All the externals don't make … more
(HH Kadamba Kanana Swami, 10 August 2012, Ljubljana, SB 1.8.21)
If we fall short in our dedication to Krsna, then we know that if we take shelter of the pure devotee, the prayer of the pure devotee is with us, and the prayer of the pure devotee will surely attract the mercy of Krsna.
Therefore, on Janmastami, we are also remembering Srila Prabhupada, because without Srila Prabhupada, how could we go before Krsna? How could we even celebrate the glories of Krsna? How could we expect the mercy of Krsna?
But because Prabhupada, the pure devotee of Krsna, brought us the pure teachings of Krsna and the pure descriptions about Krsna’s life and pastimes, we know about Krsna. Prabhupada gave us temples where we can serve Krsna, and Prabhupada finally prayed to Krsna:
“Please, accept them. Please, bestow Your mercy upon them.”
Then, what could Krsna do? Then He even had to give all those fallen, conditioned souls of Kali Yuga shelter.
