(Kadamba Kanana Swami, 2 January 2013, Durban South Africa, Srimad Bhagavatam 12.8.46)
Sometimes we see this mood, “In the name of sankirtan, anything goes.”
It doesn’t really matter, break a rule here and break a rule there in the name of sankirtan. Rabbits are not natives of Australia. They were brought from England and because they had no predators, like in England, they just multiplied into huge numbers. Even up to today, rabbits are all over the place. In traffic, many times rabbits run under your car. They try to cross the road and rabbit number one just goes right in front of the car and rabbit number two also goes right under the car. Another rabbit. What to do!?
And then, we can say, “Yah, no worries mate. Those rabbits, they got the benefit of being killed by a sankirtan vehicle!” All right, maybe so but still we try to avoid the violent lifestyle of the modern world as much as possible!
