(Kadamba Kanana Swami, 27 December 2012, Cape Town, South Africa, Srimad Bhagavatam 8.6.39)
When Srila Prabhupada was preaching, he mentioned to the young hippies, “I’m an old man and all of you, don’t think that it won’t happen to you. You will also have to become old.”
Then someone said, “That’s okay, we don’t mind getting old!”
And Prabhupada said, “That’s what you’re saying because you are a young man.”
The good thing about old age is wisdom, that is the one thing! The one problem in youth – you have all the power but you don’t know what to do with it. In old age, you know exactly what to do but you don’t have the power. So it’s like that, it’s too much, you can’t win! That is the nature in the design of the material world. Somehow or other we can’t win!
