Even if you do things at the most inauspicious time, when you chant Hare Krsna, it becomes all auspicious! Srila Prabhupada boarded the Jaladutta to go to the West on Friday the 13th, which is like an unlucky day. But that doesn’t mean that we have to do everything on Friday the 13th, that we look for the most inauspicious time.
We can bring in some elements which are create material auspiciousness because we got to do some material things – we’ve got to build houses, we can’t avoid it – we may as well use some vastu if we can. We may as well sow the seeds according to auspicious astrological time to get a good harvest, why not? But we know that ultimately the Krsna factor is always greater and can correct anything inauspicious, so we put our faith in Krsna.
