After Balarama Jayanti, Kadamba Kanana Swami spent a few days in Radhadesh and then travelled to Goloka Dhama in Abentheur, Germany on the 16 August, which was the day before Janmastami. Candramauli Swami, Krsna Ksetra Swami and many devotees from all over the world also came to Goloka Dhama. On the day before Janmastami, a six hour kirtan festival was held in the temple room as well as lectures by Candramauli Swami and Madhavanda Prabhu. Kadamba Kanana Swami gave the evening class, guiding everyone through Krsna’s pastimes in Vrindavan and setting a few meditations to see Janmastami as an opportunity for change to enhance our spiritual life.
On Janmastami morning, Krsna Ksetra Prabhu gave the final of a series of classes on deity worship that he had been doing for the last few days. Then all the devotees gathered in the temple room, eager for the curtains to open to get the first darshan of Sri Sri Radha Madhan Mohan. Sarvatma Prabhu led kirtan, building up the atmosphere and then read a small excerpt, setting the beautiful scene of Krsna and Radharani on a swing in everyone’s mind. Then suddenly the curtains opened and Sri Sri Radha Madhan Mohan were on a swing setting on the altar.
Candramauli Swami gave sannyasa initiation to Krsna Ksetra Prabhu (now Swami) on behalf of Sacinandana Swami, who unfortunately could not be present physically. However, Sacinandana Swami sent a letter and gave a class via skype. After the ceremony, half way through the day, Kadamba Kanana Swami flew to the Czech Republic for further Janmastami celebrations.
