When Lord Caitanya looks upon this material universe, everything changes. Suddenly, the entire inauspiciousness of the age of kali disappears. Srila Prabodhananda Sarasvati Thakur mentions in the Caitanya Chandramrta, “Where is the influence of kali now? Where are all the sinful men? Where have they all gone? Is there anyone who has escaped the influence of Lord Caitanya’s Movement?”
So that is a fact! Just the smiling glance of Lord Caitanya changes everything, and we thought it was us! All along we thought it was our own piety. We thought that we were natural devotees, that even as children we were always praying! Yes, but what about the other side, when we were not praying?
That interest in spiritual life was suddenly awoken in this age of darkness, in this age of materialism, simply because of the smiling glance of Lord Caitanya.
