(Kadamba Kanana Swami, 7 January 2017, Brisbane, Australia, Srimad Bhagavatam 1.1.4)
It was right there in the centre of the universe where the Srimad Bhagavatam was spoken. In this way, we know that the Srimad Bhagavatam is in the centre of this movement. It is the essential literature which is really the purpose of the movement. The Srimad Bhagavatam is showing us the path which the devotees took. It is showing us the nature of the spiritual world in great detail, which is our ultimate goal. This is why the Srimad Bhagavatam is in the centre of our movement.
We cannot say, “I like reading Prabhupada’s books, but only the little ones like ‘Beyond birth and death’ and ‘Perfection of Yoga’. I like them so much that I just keep reading them again and again”. That is very good that we enjoy reading those books, but now we must read the Srimad Bhagavatam. We must always remember that the Srimad Bhagavatam is the essence of this movement.
