We see that by the mercy of the Lord, Hiranyaksa left his body and was greatly blessed. By the touch of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Hiranyaksa was slapped and he subsequently died. Hiranyaksa actually became purified from that demoniac mentality and his body was even purified by the touch of the Lord that his body did not decay like an ordinary body. So in this way, we can see that those who are killed by the Supreme Lord are blessed and attain the very auspicious destination. In the battlefield of Kuruksetra, six hundred and forty million people died. And Yudhisthira felt very depressed at that time because six hundred and forty million people had died just so that he could gain the throne. He said, “Look at me? I am a monster. Just for my desire to have a kingdom, so many people died.” But he missed the point that anyone who saw the Supreme Lord at the time of death was immediately blessed and immediately attained the spiritual destination. Therefore, what externally appeared to be a ghastly thing was actually not ghastly at all but was rather a great blessing!
