MEDIA – STRUCTURE
How do you find stuff on this drive? For example: you are looking for a class on srimad bhagavatam from 2009 that was recorded in Sweden?
You will find this in :
KKS_Bhajans > 2009-older > Srimad Bhagavatam
In this folder you will find all the SB classes that were recorded in 2009 and older. Classes are sorted by Canto & verse numbers. From the filename you can determine which class it is, the date and place. For example:
KKS_SB-10.3.14_17-Jun-2008_Stockholm_se.mp3
So this file is a class on Srimad Bhagavatam 10.3.14 recorded on the 17th of Jun 2008 in Stockholm, Sweden.
When this media file is played then additional info can be displayed by your media player if available. For example the class title and comments can be viewed in your favorite audio player. iTunes will automatically sort the media on this drive (after importing them).
MEDIA PLAYER
To play the media (mp3, videos, dvd rips) you will need a good media player. The included players on Windows and Mac will not play all media correctly. We recommend using a well supported media player like VLC or Media player classic. Find the links below:
VLC (windows) : http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html
VLC (mac) : http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-macosx.html
Media Player Classic (windows): http://www.codecguide.com/download_k-lite_codec_pack_standard.htm
If you just need a audio player (VLC plays also videos) then foobar is a good player. Mac users can use iTunes.
Foobar2000 (windows) : http://www.foobar2000.org/download
EXTRA NOTES
iTunes & size of media
When you play a media file for the 1st time with iTunes then iTunes will copy the whole file to its own library (default behavior). iTunes will use your internal hard drive for storage. So be mindful that your internal storage may become full when importing all the media included on this usb drive.
